“Carl should name and also tell people, who blocked him from doing what. His allegations need substantial backing with actual incidents. Otherwise it’s just Carl seeking attention at the expense of others”, said Maforty in an interview.

The award winning comedian denounced allegations which were made by Carl Joshua Ncube about an existing mafia within  the industry after the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards.

“Let’s ask Carl how many comedians he has groomed and  how many he has taken with him on his international tours. Carl has to acknowledge that the reason why he failed to get support from Bulawayo was due to the fact that he does not appeal to the Bulawayo audience. Carl is doing well on his own, maybe not winning the Roil BAAs didn’t go so well with him,” said Maforty.

According to Maforty artistes should invest in their craft and brand it in a way that is relevant to the Bulawayo audience if they wish to strive in the city. Further, the jokester said that one crucial thing that artistes have to consider in this industry is public behaviour. Maforty also acknowledged that the awards were providing a  platform for Bulawayo artistes to perform and showcase their raw talent.

The jokester, Maforty, revealed that he will be in Harare at Simuka Comedy night sharing the stage with other comedians like Cde Fasto ,Pro beats on 28 June.
