TALEN Vision players are a well looked after lot with the title chasing Zifa Southern Region Division One side rewarding them in a number of ways.

On top of their monthly salaries, Talen Vision players get training allowances, which ensures that they attend fine tuning sessions without any hassles and interestingly get rewarded for every goal they score. This means they were smiling all the way to their homes after their 13-0 thrashing of Toronto at Mzilikazi Barracks last Friday, the second such score line they have recorded this season having walloped Moto Moto by the same margin at Luveve Stadium last month.

While most Premier Soccer League teams pay an average RTGS$500 for a win, Talen Vision players pocket an equivalent of US$100 every time they bag three points.  Talen Vision president, Khumbulani Nkomo said they started by rewarding their players with an equivalent of US$10 for a win until it got to the present amount. As time went on, Nkomo said the players got complacent as they were content with winning by scoring a few goals, that is why they put in the incentive for every goal scored.

“With time we realised that our players just wanted to win, they knew even if they won they got their winning bonuses, that is when we said unless you scored three goals, that’s when you get your winning bonus because they were not scoring,’’ Nkomo said.

He indicated that the sponsor for the goals incentive is a miner, and the players get an equivalent of US$100 at the interbank rate on that particular day.

Top of the log Talen Vision are involved in a captivating race for the Southern Region Division One title with Bulawayo City, with the two teams tied on 55 points. Each still have to play four matches and Vision are banking on their goal difference to carry the day for them should both of them win all their remaining matches.

For Talen Vision, next up is Indlovu Iyanyathela at home followed by Bosso90 away. Casymn will make the trip to Bulawayo before Mkhuphali Masuku’s lads travel to Hwange for a clash with Makomo in their last fixture of the season.

Try Ncube’s City face Ajax Hotspurs away prior to clashing with Binga Pirates at home. Amakhosi travel to Victoria Falls for a date with Mosi Rovers in their penultimate fixture of the season before they finish things off at home against Arenel Movers. — @Mdawini_29
