NATIONAL team swimmer, Quinton Tayali added his name to the list of swimmers who will be taking part in the South African Level Three Gala after clocking the qualifying time at last week’s 2017 Cana Zone IV mock up event.
Twenty other Zimbabwean swimmers have already qualified for the South African Junior National Championships that will be held in the port city of Durban next month.
Tayali emerged first in the 15-16 years 100m butterfly race in one minute 03.93 seconds to surpass the SA Level Three qualifying time of one minute 13.96 seconds. Several swimmers clocked qualifying times for the Durban meet at the Senior National Championships held at Les Brown Pool in Harare last month.
However, some athletes qualified for the SA Level Three Gala last year, among them Denilson Cyprianos also from Penguins, The Falcons Swimming Club’s Liam O’Hara and Barracudas’ Cory Werret.
