ZIFA is working to secure a friendly for the Warriors against Mozambique as part of preparations for the 2016 African Nations Championships set for Rwanda later this month.
Although the final details of the date of match are still being finalised it is likely to be played this week giving coach, Calisto Pasuwa the much needed practice match.
Sources at Zifa said after the Warriors’ failure to play against Cameroon, Pasuwa is looking forward to the match as he had indicated he would love to have three friendly matches before heading for Kigali, the Rwandan capital.
Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela said they were in the process of securing a friendly for the national team but said details could only be released tomorrow.
Gwesela said the Warriors had trooped back to camp and held two training sessions yesterday.
“Yes, we are making plans for a friendly but I cannot say at the moment who we are going to play as the details would only be available by Monday.
The preps are going on well as the players are back in camp and they held a training session in the morning and another one is currently on,” said Gwesela.
The Warriors had been set to face the Indomitable Lions but the match was aborted.
The Warriors are scheduled to leave next Tuesday for Rwanda with the squad having been trimmed from 31 to 23 players that will do duty at the fourth edition of the continental tourney that feature locally based players.
