ZPCS team had their first wins of the day when both the men and women teams defeated their Botswana opponents with an identical 2-0 score lines in volleyball, while in netball the team maintained its dominance with a 42-11 victory. The Botswana side came out second best in men’s football won 2-1 by the Zimbabweans.

ZPCS public relations officer Garainashe Moyo said as a region they were happy to host such an event as it helps in strengthening the relations between the two countries.

Mailosi Jomane the Matabeleland region assistant commissioner, pointed out the main purpose of hosting the Games was to create a stage for prison officers to share valuable ideas both in sport and culture.
