ZIMBABWE will next month host the Logistics 4.0 and Smart Supply Chain Finance Summit aimed at unpacking the latest business trends, ideas and developments transforming working capital and supply chain management.
The event is being organised by DEAT Capital and will run under the theme: “Innovative financing solutions of smart supply chains and logistics ecosystem post Covid-19 pandemic.”
DEAT Capital is a Zimbabwe trade and investment firm with focus on development of smart cities, renewable energy projects, end to end logistics solutions, logistics infrastructure and management in Southern Africa.
In an interview, DEAT Capital Zimbabwe managing director Mr Nicky Moyo said the summit will be an in-depth event that will track the transformation of supply chain finance and showcase the latest innovations within the industry for both domestic and cross-border financing.
“Our forthcoming Logistics 4.0 and Supply Chain Finance Summit is an important opportunity to learn about the latest trends, ideas and developments transforming working capital and supply chain management.
“This in-depth event tracks the transformation of supply chain finance, showcasing the latest innovations within the industry for both domestic and cross-border financing, examining the future of technology-enabled supply chain models,” he said.
The summit, he added, will drive the conversation on increasing access of supply chain finance for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), public sector agencies and leading private sector organisations.
He said SMEs played a pivotal role in the development of the country’s economy, hence their need to utilise the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which will significantly boost intra-Africa trade.
Among some of the speakers and panelists for the summit include National Housing and Social Amenities Minister Daniel Garwe, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr John Mangudya, Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) acting commissioner-general Ms Regina Chinamasa and Afreximbank Southern Africa Regional Chief Operating Officer Mr Humphrey Nwugo among others.
