A 20-YEAR-OLD man from Gwanda has appeared in court after he allegedly sodomised an older man in the mining town.
Phathisani Nyathi appeared before magistrate Mr Tawanda Muchemwa, at Gwanda Magistrates Court last Monday facing sodomy charges.

He allegedly sodomised a 36-year-old on 21 May.
According to the State’s case, presented by prosecutor Mr Mncedisi Dube, Nyathi led his alleged victim to the bush near Jahunda Primary School where he threatened him with an empty beer bottle, and ordered him to remove his trousers.
Nyathi then forced his to lie down and sodomised him.
Later, the victim managed to escape and went to file a report leading to the arrest of Nyathi.
Nyathi was also found in possession of his victim’s phone and a medical report was produced in court as an exhibit.
The accused was remanded in custody to 30 May.
