THE construction of a $240 000 special needs facility, the first of its kind in the Midlands, has gathered momentum after various stakeholders joined hands to donate the necessary equipment to start the construction work.
The construction of the facility, which will cater for the disabled and underprivileged, will be spearheaded by a charity trust, Precious Souls Foundation (PSF), working closely with Redcliff Municipality and other stakeholders in Midlands.
In her speech during the ground-breaking ceremony at the 3 000 square metres stand in Rutendo on Saturday, PSF founder and director Mrs Medlinah Ramjee said the facility would be the first of its kind in the Midlands Province.
“We would like to offer special needs facility, so that parents don’t have to send their children far away to get care. The facility will be the only one of its kind in Midlands. We will provide them with everyday care, rehabilitation and learning opportunities,” Mrs Ramjee said.
