A LOCAL philanthropist is addressing the needs of the less privileged at Isilwane Youth Centre in Old Pumula, Bulawayo after donating 50 food hampers to 50 families and sanitary wear to 160 women.

Mrs Stella Sibanda, founder of Healing a Broken Heart charity organisation donated the hampers last week which comprised of 10kg mealie meal, 750ml of cooking oil, 2kg sugar, bar soap and 1 kg salt under Stella Express Campaign meant to assist the needy and promote the use and access of sanitary wear by the girl child.

Through her initiative, she has transformed the lives of many young girls and the needy in many communities. Mrs Sibanda said that she grew in Pumula North.

“The reason behind me starting a campaign is my passion to give back to the community and try to change things from where I grew up not only in Pumula, but I will be touring Hyde Park as a whole and I will continue to assist those that need help in every community,” she said.

Beneficiaries from the donations were so grateful to Mrs Sibanda for what she did in their community by giving them food and sanitary wear.

“We are grateful for what you did for us and we will forever be grateful, most of us do not afford sanitary wear and the food stuffs you bought for us today, may you continue to assist vulnerable people like us and a hand that gives is blessed than a hand that receives, may God give you more to assist us,” said one of the residents.
