ZIMBABWE national Under-14 rugby team coach, Maxwell Madziva has hailed the AMG Global Junior Rugby Coaching Festival as a brilliant initiative by Falcon College.
Speaking on the second day of the rugby coaching fiesta on Saturday, Madziva, who attended in his capacity as the Old Mutual Junior Sables coach said it is at such gatherings where coaches get opportunists to see the players. He feels there is need for more of such programmes in order for the players as well as their coaches to get better.
“It’s the first time I’ve been here, I know it’s been going on for years now, it’s a brilliant initiative by Falcon College, we need more of this to be honest, basically that’s where you see the youngsters, you see the work that the coaches are putting in. Madziva is planning a similar weekend at St George’s College in Harare just before schools open for the second term so he can discover more players for the Old Mutual Junior Sables.
The former Sables skipper indicated that he spotted 20 players over the two days he was at Falcon College that wants to have another opportunity to see again as he prepares for this year’s Under-13 Craven Week in Mpumalanga, South Africa at the end of June.
