IT’S the eighth month now. Only four more until the year is over. By now you should have started on majority of your resolutions and already done with a lot more. Unfortunately for a lot of us, we forgot about the resolutions the moment our problems came knocking on the door. For the few that bothered to write them down, the book in which we wrote is lost in some corner gathering dust.

As a people we cannot afford to be complacent about our lives. With the state of Zimbabwe today, we cannot afford to do a half-baked job on ourselves. We need to work twice as hard in order to catch up to the rest of the world. Our nation is not doing well and we the people are the only hope. We need to make corrections where we have failed. You individually have to make corrections where you have failed. You start by writing down the resolutions, the plan or the ultimate goal.

Habakkuk 2 verse 2

And then God answered me and said, write the vision, make it plain upon tables that he may run that readth it.

Its scriptural to write down a vision. One cannot go after something that he does not see in his mind. You normally start by seeing pictures of what you would like to become in your mind before they manifest. If this year’s ultimate goal is to start going to school again, you must start to see yourself in your graduation gown. You must see what you would do with the degree, diploma or certificate when you finally have it. Write down the vision, so that he may run that reads it, write it down so that even when you begin to lose sight of what you are working towards, the words you wrote set you back on track.

We should stay away from small visions as a people. A lot of people walk around thinking they are very achieved for two reasons, the first is that they have grasshopper visions. Meaning the goals are too small. One dedicates their lives to doing something very small, when they quickly achieve it, they think they are great. The second reason people are dedicated to  grasshopper vision is exposure. If you never expose yourself to what other people are doing around the world, you will never know what it is to be a person of great vision.  Refuse to sit in your village and continue to be the hero in you little city.

Greatness comes when you often break rank and do what others around you are not doing. If you find yourself in the same space, doing the same thing, earning the same amount for a long period, then you must worry. Worry because something is definitely wrong. One way to deal with that is to break rank, save up for a holiday, go to a different nation, expose yourself to a different culture, observe how people in your field are getting ahead, when you come back home, implement what you have observed. Create a new revenue steam. Continue to build until you have achieved your goal. Never allow yourself to remain the same for long periods or you will start to become a village hero.

Accept that all things that have happened to you are your responsibility, the sooner you do, the faster we get to move forward. You cannot be crying about who did what to you for the past hundred years. You need to get up, and go after what God created you for. It is your responsibility to heal yourself of whatever misfortune happened to you, and ready yourself to work otherwise you will find yourself always blaming the world for all things that happen to you. Its your responsibility, deal with it. I have seen an old man that have wasted away their entire lives blaming someone for things that happened to him.

Never allow that in your life. Blaming people for things that happened to you is equally as bad as waiting for people to act in order for you to begin succeeding. A good example is a woman that waits to get married so that the man may buy her a car and house, this is an ungodly thought pattern. God has created you in his image and likeness. Why don’t you focus on buying yourself that car, buy yourself that house, if the man comes, he will find you on your way. Move on with your life, you are not defined by your marital status, you are defined by your actions.

God loved you when Jesus came to die for you and he still loves you today. Have a blessed weekend, you are an important part of God’s plan for the world,
