Durban Gen has been trending after it was confirmed that it was renewed for a second season. However, all viewers of the drama series have been on cloud nine after the news of renewed season two flooded social media. What so confusing is the fact that the drama series was showrunners confirmed that the medical drama series was canned. Season 2B is being beamed already, and we can’t wait for the drama capped with thrills. Of interest is the fact that it has a new storyline that has a five-year-jump from the previous season.

Durban Gen Season one had a dramatic end, leaving many wondering what was next, but the showrunners played their cards well. No doubt viewers are now in for a treat on season two. The much-talked-about season premiered and left Mzansi puzzled. Its opening scenes introduced us to Dr Mbali Mthetwa as a Sangoma. She was introduced whilst at her graduation as a fully-fledged sangoma.

Taking to Instagram, the bubbly actress has it that shooting new scenes as a sangoma was challenging. She has it that it’s a new journey, and she has been learning a lot.

I am so excited about this new journey and shift I took as an actress. The opportunity to portray different characters I won’t lie this storyline is so close to my heart and it’s been so hard! Haweh mah! Shooting these scenes were the pits! So challenging! Overwhelming and powerful. I can’t wait for you guys to see this journey I took.

A few months ago, Stained Glass Productions, the brains behind the medical drama series, released a statement about the canning of the drama series. The channel even revealed that Durban Gen was axed as part of a business strategy by e.tv.
