JET Stores in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare yesterday donated clothing and accessory hampers to Hwange triplets whose mother died from complications during birth a month ago.

The donation was made during the announcement of the 2019 Jet Stores Baby of the Year competition, where six babies from across the Southern Region won various prizes at a Bulawayo recreation centre.

Jet marketing manager, Mrs Priscillah Poswo Nyawera said the competition was held annually to celebrate babies.

“Jet babies decided to give back to the community after learning of the sad passing on of Mrs Sibanda who was a wife and a mother to the triplets. We then organised clothing and accessory hampers to assist in the upbringing of the triplets. As Jet we value the family and wish them well,” said Mrs Nyawera.

She said Jet Stores ran the competition for two months and winners were selected by the public.

“This time voters were spoilt for choice. We are proud to give away prizes to the following winners, in the 0-12 month category, both girls and boys prizes go to Shekinah Muunganirwa, Elora C Manyuchi, Akeim T Majachani and Jayden Z Zulu. The winners for the 13-24 months are Delma L Mugadza and Joel Magigwana,” said Mrs Nyawera.

She said this year’s voting process was also done digitally through the WhatsApp platform, in addition to the in store voting process.
