WAR veteran Cde Molly Ncube has died at the age of 65.

Cde Ncube whose pseudo name was Cde Lovemorious Khaya Ntubeni passed away at the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) on Sunday last week.

Cde Ncube was declared a Liberation War Hero and buried at the Bulawayo Provincial Heroes Acre in Nkulumane on Friday.

She was born in 1956 at Mathe area in Tsholotsho District, Matabeleland North Province.

Cde Ncube did her primary education at Mzilikazi Primary in Bulawayo from Grade One to Five. She failed to continue with her studies due to financial constraints.

She joined the armed struggle in 1976 when she crossed into Botswana with her first port of call being Selibe-Phikwe and was later moved to Francistown from where she was flown to Zambia with other youths.

She went to Victory Camp in Zambia in January 1978 and later Mkushi where her commander was Cde Billy Mzamo.
She trained for six months and was also among the injured guerillas when the camp was bombed on 19 October 1978 by the Rhodesian forces.

After the time of the ceasefire, she moved to Sierra Assembly Point, which was a camp for female ZPRA combatants.

She was demobilised in 1982 and returned to civilian life.

She was the widow of the late Cde Vincent Ncube who also was a war veteran.
