Monday a public holiday, Cabinet meets Wednesday

THIS week’s Cabinet meeting, which is traditionally conducted on Tuesday has been pushed forward to Wednesday, the Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda has said.

This comes as the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage confirmed that tomorrow has been officially designated as a holiday in light of today’s Workers’ Day commemorations.

In a statement, the Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda said: “The Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet would like to advise Cabinet members that the Cabinet Meeting penciled for

Tuesday, 3rd May, 2022 has been moved to Wednesday, 4 May 2022 at the usual time and venue.”

Last night Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Mr Aaron Nhepera, told our Harare Bureau that “May 2 has been proclaimed a public holiday in recognition of Workers’ Day, which falls on a Sunday, allowing the holiday to be celebrated on Monday.”
