Pool festival at Emakhandeni

EMAKHANDENI Cricket Club comes alive tomorrow and Tuesday when the finest singles pool players in Bulawayo fight it out for honours in the inaugural Heroes Pool tournament.
The competition is open to both male and female pool players in the city who are from clubs affiliated to the Bulawayo Pool Association.
Sponsored by businessman Phathisani Nkomo who runs the bar at Emakhandeni Cricket Club, the event has a total package of $1 000.

The top eight finishers in the male section will get prizes with the number one player set to pocket $250 as well as medals for the top three.
In the female category, there would be prizes for the top four players with medals for those in the top three.

Nkomo said it was the first time the place was having a pool tournament and he has secured four pool tables for the event. Depending on the success of this tournament, Nkomo said the tournament might be held on an annual basis.

To hold the tournament, Nkomo disclosed that they had to donate $150 to BPA with the association to be responsible for the rules and administration of the two-day occasion.
