CHICKEN Inn head coach Joey Antipas has reckoned that his team is still working on player combinations ahead of their clash with ZPC Kariba today at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo this afternoon.

Gamecocks welcome the power men after their well-played two-all draw against former champions FC Platinum last Thursday in Zvishavane.

On the same day, ZPC Kariba played a goalless draw against visiting defending league champions Ngezi Platinum Stars.

“I think we are coming from a fruitful visit in Zvishavane where we managed to hold FC Platinum. They are a good side. As we take each game as it comes, I think we are ready to face ZPC Kariba. It’s still early into the season and we are still working on our player combinations. Hopefully, we will get it right against ZPC Kariba,” said Antipas.

Yesterday, his players had a morning gym work out before they went for a small training session and camp.

Club towering central defender Itai Mabunu said while they respect ZPC Kariba, they are geared up to give their all.

“It’s a tricky match but we have always faced these challenges as a club. We need to stay focused and make sure we fight it out. We are prepared for our opponents as we pray to get a good result,” said Mabunu.

In other matches scheduled for today, FC Platinum will meet Herentals College at Kariba’s Nyamhunga Stadium.
FC Platinum are yet to lose a match this season.

“We are still early into the season, but I think the Fifa International break affected us just like any other club. The boys have been doing and we are hoping for the best against Herentals,” said Pure Platinum Play head coach Norman Mapeza.

Baobab Stadium will be the venue of the game between Rodwell Dhlakama’s mentored Greenfuel while bruised Caps United welcome Arenel United at Zimbabwe’s refurbished ceremonial home of football, Rufaro Stadium.

Makepekepe are smarting from a 1-0 loss that they suffered at the hands of Bikita Minerals.

Tomorow, Bulawayo football giants Highlanders will take on TelOne at Gweru’s Bata Stadium.

Ngezi Platinum Stars will entertain Manica Diamonds at Mhondoro’s Baobab Stadium. Battered Simba Bhora will seek to utilise home advantage when they do battle against Hwange at Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva.

Coming from their famous 1-0 triumph over Caps United, Bikita Minerals will take on Dynamos in another match that will be played at the new look Rufaro Stadium. – @FungaiMuderere.
