A MARRIED Zaoga elder from Masvingo’s Mucheke suburb was found dead at a suspected sex worker’s house, a few minutes after the two had quality time, police confirmed.

Acting Masvingo police spokesperson Assistant Nkululeko Nduna said the incident occurred on Monday.

Gifford Mudondo (67) was found dead at Maida Chin’anga’s bedroom on the bed with his trousers on the floor.

Police were alerted of the incident and attended the scene where upon arrival they collected Mudondo’s body from the woman’s bedroom, much to the chagrin of his family members and fellow congregants.

When Sunday News arrived at the late Mudondo’s house in Pangolin suburb, some close family members were heard saying Mudondo had gone to the woman’s house to place orders since she is a tailor but could not explain how he ended up in the bedroom, let alone on a bed and naked.

Sources privy to the goings-on said Mudondo went to Mucheke Bus Terminus after knocking off at his workplace where he works as a driver and parked his vehicle before proceeding to Chin’anga’s house in the same suburb.

“Mudondo left his vehicle parked at the terminus apparently to avoid being seen by other congregants. The next thing we heard of his death and his body was found on the woman’s bed while naked with his trousers on the floor,” said a resident from Mucheke.

He said it was not true that Mudondo had gone to place orders since the woman is a tailor.

Mudondo, he said, was Chin’anga’s well-known client with their shenanigans having gone viral throughout the suburb and some congregants were fully aware of it.

“What we got pertaining to this incident is that Mudondo and Chin’anga were intimate.

“The two were seen on several occasions together despite the fact that the man is a church elder at Zaoga and the woman, a known sex worker in the location,” he said.

After the incident, Chin’anga confided in her friends within the same location on what had transpired and one of them advised her to report to the police.

Police attended the scene and removed the body from the bedroom before conveying it to Masvingo General Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
