All set for CEO Africa Roundtable Ms Nqobile Munzara

THE CEO Africa Roundtable will host this year’s Women’s Executive Leadership Roundtable 2022 in Kariba from 4 to 6 May.

The event is meant to capacitate women as they play a critical role in the economy. The third edition of the Women’s Executive Leadership Roundtable which will run under the theme: “Scaling for Success” will attract women business leaders of all backgrounds from the country’s largest corporations and entrepreneurs from women-owned businesses.

In an interview, CEO Africa Roundtable board member, Ms Nqobile Munzara told Sunday News Business that all was set for the high-level event.

“This year, the Women’s Executive Leadership Roundtable (WELR) 2022 will be held in Kariba from 4 to 6 May. It is recognised as the premier women’s leadership conference for business, entrepreneurship and women empowerment. Attendees will hear and learn from some of the most influential thought leaders and executives across the nation,” said Ms Munzara.

She said the event is aimed at building a strong women business leaders’ movement with critical skills and knowledge base to promote women businesses in Africa and the globe.

Ms Munzara said the three-day conference programme and sessions had been structured in a manner that will see delegates expand their network of top-level business contacts, find new financial and business partners and be champions in the development of Africa’s private sector.

“These women will be able to discover and learn the best practices from leading and fast-growing companies, gain strategic insights, share their experiences and identify new opportunities. The conference will also allow them to network with policy makers, business leaders and market experts so that they can forge new partnerships and gain competitive advantage.”

Ms Munzara said amid the Covid-19 pandemic-induced challenges, some women-led and owned businesses managed to grow especially those that were manufacturing sanitisers and Personal Protective Equipment.

She said the conference was an opportunity for them to share the success recipe with other women who were struggling or want to grow their businesses.

Some of the key speakers lined up for the conference include the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Sekai Nzenza who will deliver the keynote address, Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Dr Sithembiso Nyoni, Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ) director general Dr Eve Christine Gadzikwa and Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank CEO Dr Mandas Marikanda.

Key topics under discussion will include optimising investments: Future-proof your finances, leading with intent — reviewing that state of diversity, equity and inclusion public boards and making public procurement work for women among others.

The CEO Africa Roundtable is a high-level platform for corporate chief executive officers and senior executives, in both private and public sector, created to engender cross-fertilisation of critical economic and business knowledge in and around Africa.

It serves to empower them with a wide range of packages including researched data, synergies, investment facilitation, business and investment profiling.
