BOUNCERS have been known to be a common feature at night clubs or musical shows, mainly to instil some form of order and discipline to some unruly elements.
With that regard local bouncers have since established a bouncers association. Such is the case of a Harare-based company Tyson Vice Security, which was recently in Bulawayo for the Gloria’s Tour, where the likes of Jah Prayzah, Sulumani Chimbetu, Selmor Mtukudzi, Shinsoman, Jeys Marabini and Alaina performed.
When the bouncers made a phenomenal entrance at the event, held at the Large City Hall, people could not help but ogle and marvel at the trend.
They wore uniformed navy blue t-shirts with BOUNCER printed on their chests. Like that was not enough people could be seen quickly arranging themselves, in a bid to avoid being manhandled by the “goliaths” from Harare.
Tyson Vice Security employs more than 100 muscular individuals and is also giving other security firms a good run for their money. Francis John, a co-founder of the company said Tyson Vice was established on the basis of maintaining peace and order at events.
“We established this company with my friend Paul Knoxleet at the end of 2008. Our aim was and is to maintain peace and tranquility at events. We do not condone violence and we work hand in hand with the police,” John said.
He added that their company can be hired for any public event ranging from weddings, clubs, shows and any private functions.
“We do different events, private functions, weddings, shows, parties and clubs. We just look at how big the event is and then take part of our guys to go do the job depending on how big the event is. We have managed to do very big events such as HIfa, shows for Micasa and Mandoza when they were here and prime circle VIP amongst other corporate events,” he said.
John said their company hires individuals who are willing to work and go through necessary training for a great body.
“We hire men only that are willing to be trained. We train everyone that we have hired so that they are fit and can handle anyone who wants to be mischievous. We go to the gym to keep our bodies in shape. However, there is a slow growing competition coming up as other organisations and companies of bouncers are being established, particularly in the capital.”
