Hit, run victim’s family sought

POLICE in Gwanda are appealing to relatives or people who might know Daniel Tshuma who was fatally hit by a car about 10 kilometres from the town along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge road in a suspected hit and run accident on 8 April.
Matabeleland South police spokesman Inspector Philisani Ndebele said Tshuma died on the spot on the morning of that particular day.
“I can confirm that a man aged between 35 and 40 was killed in a hit and run accident at the 112km peg along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge highway. The accident happened at 5.30am when an unknown motorist hit the pedestrian and drove off. The man suffered multiple body injuries and died on the spot, the body has only been identified by his employer but we are looking for his real relatives. His body is still lying at Gwanda Provincial Hospital,” said Insp Ndebele.

“We are making efforts to locate his relatives whom we understand from his employer are from Nkayi. He was employed by Magaweni Ndlovu of Nsindi (as a herdboy) and we are working on investigations to contact his relatives. We are appealing to the members of the public who may assist in the location of Tshuma’s relatives to contact us on 0284-22810,” said Insp Ndebele.

He also advised members of the public to take particulars of their employees so that if anything happens they can easily locate where they come from.
