MTHWAKAZI Affairs and Approval Civic Organisation, an organisation founded to complement development projects in the Matabeleland region, has heaped praise on President Mnangagwa and noted that it is ready to work with the Government to promote inclusiveness in addressing challenges faced in the region.

The organisation is mainly registered to promote and establish  the spirit of friendliness, unity, co-operation, development and awareness which would enhance the quality and standard of living in the region.

Founder of the organisation, Mr Langalitshoni Ernest Ncube, in an interview last week, said they acknowledged the work done by President Mnangagwa and Zanu-PF hence the need to join hands to work for the good of the people.

He said the organisation was keen to meet President Mnangagwa to discuss several issues they would like to see addressed by the Second Republic.

“Our problems in the Matabeleland region need Zanu-PF. There is no opposition party that will help us and we need Zanu-PF to map a way forward. There is a generation that does not know the historical background about the country. It is time we become one as a nation and address issues like Gukurahundi, Operation Murambatswina and other national issues which need to be ironed out and we speak with one voice,” he said.

The Mthwakazi group acknowledged the Independence Day celebrations that were held in Bulawayo saying the move showed a change in the Second Republic’s thrust towards the region.

Independence Day

“As Mthwakazi, we would like to appreciate the effort of the President and his Government in bringing the Independence Day celebrations to Bulawayo and the region. When you speak to Zanu-PF, some (in opposition) will label you a bad person, but I have reached out to them trying to explain my issue.

I am praying for an opportunity to meet with the President face to face so we share our vision. As President Mnangagwa said this country is ready for development, I believe we need to have one voice and it’s not time to point fingers, there are critical issues that will not be said here, but rather said to the to the right people,” he said.

As an organisation, Mr Ncube said they appreciated the work being done by President Mnangagwa.

“There are people who come in the name of opposition to create havoc and chaos in Matabeleland, yes, they might create jobs but what are they promising behind scenes? Land, wealth. We need intervention of the ruling party, even if we do not have farms, we have never heard anyone dying of hunger when we have neighbours who have them,” said Mr Ncube. — @thembekileNoe
