The Sunday News

IN our article headlined “Judge blasts bribe claim lawyer” published in the Sunday News edition of 30 April 2017, we reported that lawyer Mr Prayer Muzvuzvu of Muzvuvu and Mguni Law Chambers was accused by a judge of making “wild and unproven comments imputing corrupt and improper motives” on the part of Filabusi resident magistrate Mr Mzingaye Moyo in a criminal case.
However, it has since come to our attention that Mr Muzvuvu was at that time practicing under the banner and style of Lawman Chimuriwo Attorneys, and not Muzvuzvu and Mguni Law Chambers as reported.

It has also come to our attention that Mr Muzvuzvu was actually not the one principally handling the case in question and “merely stood in as a corresponding attorney” for another lawyer. More importantly, he was not even at the particular court on the said date.

We wish to apologise to Mr Muzvuzvu for the inconvenience the article might have caused. The error is sincerely regretted. — Editor.
