THE Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA), working with communities in Vungu District in Midlands Province have been praised for joining efforts in the construction of Impala Clinic at Tovho Resettlement Area.

In an interview, Vungu Rural District Council Ward 1, Councillor Mbuso Ndlovu said the clinic will serve villagers from Sweswe, Ndabambi, Gobo, Ndandigwe, Mthethwa, Mloyiswa and Wooden Farm.

“The clinic is almost complete with outstanding works being the tiles and tubing. We are now building two houses for the staff which we expect to be complete by the end of October,” said Clr Ndlovu.

He said most villagers would be spared from walking a distance of 35 kilometres to the nearest health facility for medical assistance.

“We would like to appreciate our Zimbabwe National Army for seconding two builders who helped us with knowledge on the ground as well as the villagers who voluntarily assisted with labour by moulding bricks, collection of the pit and river sand,” he said.

Vungu Member of Parliament Cde Omega Sibanda acknowledged and appreciated the efforts by the Government and army and the local community in the construction of Impala Clinic.

“I acknowledge the work done by the Government through the Devolution Fund which was availed to the Rural Council for the construction of Impala Clinic and I also appreciate our President, Cde E.D Mnangagwa who listened to our grievances. I also want to thank the local council led by Councillor Mbuso Ndlovu who has been providing all the general work including workers. We are moving in the right direction towards achieving Vision 2030,” Cde Sibanda said.
