A 10-man Chicken Inn subdued a determined Craneborne Bullets to start their campaign in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League on a winning note at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

Following a good combination play, lanky Munashe Pini had to atone for his questionable show in Mhondoro in the Chibuku Super Cup quarter final tie against Ngezi Platinum Stars when he combined well with equally skillful and impressive Obriel Chirinda and converted.

Gamecocks went one man short after impressive Clive Dzingayi was shown red 15 minutes before time after he was booked for the second time in the match.

“It’s always exciting to win but I must say the boys gave a determined show.

“We went under pressure in the second half but I‘m gland we had to fight it on in the second half with one man short,” said Chicken Inn head coach Joey Antipas.
Nesbert Saruchera who was in charge of the army side said: “We need to be in the league next season.

“We need to work harder to rectify the mistakes that we made. A number of our   players were not playing according to instructions.”

Next up for the Gamecocks is a blockbuster encounter against FC Platinum set for Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane while Bullets are at home against Bulawayo Chiefs.
