A GROUP of young tennis players from Bulawayo is heading to the United States of America for a 10-day exchange programme early next month, a visit which will see them getting high level coaching.
The nine youngsters from different schools in Bulawayo, aged between 10 to 19 years are all from the Elite Tennis Village, which is based at Whitestone Primary School. They will be in the USA from 4 to 14 September. Of the nine players, five are from Petra, Whitestone have two, one is from Christian Brothers College while the other is a former Sizane High School pupil.
Zenzo Ndlovu, the Elite Tennis Village coach, who is one of the tour leaders, said they got an invitation from Brookstone, which is a sister school of Petra College while an American doctor Stephen Beaty and his wife Jane will be hosting them during their stay in USA.
Brookstone have since 2015 been involved in a partnership with Petra College with their students twice coming to Bulawayo.
Stephen Beaty also runs free eye clinics every year in Zimbabwe while his wife conducts tennis coaching sessions in the country where she gives out equipment.
