REIGNING Bulawayo Social Soccer League champions FC Stars will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways this afternoon when they take on Fundukulinda.

The game is at their favourite hunting ground at Ndola, Iminyela as the league resumes their normal fixtures after the hectic Easter holiday. After losing two games on the trot, one league match followed quickly by an even bitter loss that saw them being booted out of the Chris Mhlanga Cup, Stars would want to quickly asset their authority as the real deal once again in the league.

On other hand second-placed Man U who take on 94 Strivers. The hosts will be praying that visitors come carrying all the demons of losing, and in the process donate the valuable points they need to keep up the pressure with the log leaders.

According to Blessing Adolef Jonga, the team manager of Man U, they expect a good game.

“Since 94 Strivers are our neighbours,  neighbours will always want to beat each other so this game is a derby, but again it is our first time to play them so we don’t have a clear idea of how they play, as a result we expect fireworks. We have little information about them since they were playing in pool B over the years, however, we expect a good game as Man U when it comes to Emakhandeni we are the torch bears of social soccer,” said Jonga.

Meanwhile, in a cup tournament to honour its founding president Chris Mhlanga dubbed “Chris Mhlanga Cup” Old Timers, walked away the winners after cruising to 1-0 victory against Celtics while the bronze medal went to FC Zonke who made light work of Real Shwelele winning 4-1.

As he bade farewell an emotional Mhlanga promised to be around for consultation and urged the leaders to maintain the legacy, promote unity among all communities as preached by the late Vice-President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo.
