FEW things are worse when you’re late in the morning than having to detangle your necklaces or looking for the other earring lost in the abyss of your jewellery drawer. Here are some creative ideas on how to turn a picture frame into an attractive organiser for all your sparkling treasures.

Jewellery is all about adding charm and beauty — why hide it in a drawer? If you have an admirable collection of earrings, bracelets and necklaces, show it off! Get a larger picture frame, give it a touch of paint and create a jewellery display that can be incorporated with your bedroom’s décor.

There are several ways a picture frame can be turned into a jewellery display. If you give it a simple backing of colourful fabric, you will be able to hang the pieces on pins. Alternately, you can use an empty frame and back it with some sort of a grid or span the edges with wire, lace, ribbon, etc — this works great for fish hook earrings.

Having your jewelry all nice and organised is really easy and affordable.

Attach wood twigs to the back of a frame and stick multiple small hooks or pins all along their length — this way you will be able to hang both necklaces and earrings.

An old burlap coffee sack and some hooks can go a long way in helping you put up a really versatile picture frame jewellery display.

Another one that’s perfect for dangling earrings — a display made of pieces of twisted wire stapled to the back of a picture frame.

Here’s another good reason to collect wine corks. Use hot glue to attach them — vertically and horizontally — to a frame backing and create a one-of-a-kind vintage jewellery display. Make sure to have some corks point out so you can add the screws for necklaces. If you have an empty frame, use cardboard to give it a backing.

Chicken wire makes a fabulous solution when you’re into dangling earrings more than other jewellery pieces. You can attach it to the back of the frame nailing down some tacks.

Finally, there’s always peg board. It’s really versatile as you can add multiple hooks and hang just about everything you want — from jewellery (even rings and bracelets) to sunglasses and hair accessories. — decorlove.com
