A BULAWAYO-BASED socio-economic research and advisory services organisation, Innotec Private Limited is putting together a National Sports Development and an inaugural awards ceremony in Harare on 1 December to honour institutions that have played a part in the betterment of that industry in the country.

According to Innotec administrator Ruvimbo Harinangoni, the awards which are supported by the Ministry of Sport and Recreation are meant to recognise and hand out appreciation rewards to institutions and organisations that have made outstanding input to the growth of sport in Zimbabwe, in particular at grassroots level.

“Innotec, supported by Ministry of Sport and Recreation is hosting the National Sports Development Conference and Awards on the 1st of December 2016 at Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare. We will be recognising and giving appreciation awards to institutions/organisations that have made outstanding contributions towards the development of sports in Zimbabwe, particularly at grassroots level,’’ said Harinangoni.

With over 600 delegates expected to attend, it is hoped that the Innotec sports development conference and awards are set to attract Zimbabwe’s experts to share their insights and solutions to the country’s sports situation while simultaneously exploring vast economic opportunities in the industry.

“The awards seek to recognise stakeholder efforts in the development of sport and recreation in Zimbabwe in line with the Ministry of Sport and Recreation’s National Sport Policy, Zim-Asset as well as broader national socio economic development agenda,’’ said Tidings Chaitezvi, the executive director in charge of research at Innotec.

Meanwhile, Sunday News has been invited to the conference and awards ceremony to receive an appreciation accolade.
