It being Africa Day on 25 May where Africans across the length and breadth of the continent will be celebrating their Africanness and culture, Jeys Marabini will provide that African taste of music to Gwanda at Cry Mantengwane Sports Bar.

The maestro who has eight albums under his belt, will make Africa Day celebrations worthy to remember as he would make revellers reflect on their uniqueness in culture, identity and traditions while reminding them to live together in peace and love through a song called Thuthukani ngothando.

“We have to thank God that we are living in a country that still allows us to celebrate our traditions and cultures according to our different tribes, as such to me that is worth celebrating. Moreover, we enjoy all the freedoms and living in a diversified society that has many tribes but we tolerate each other,” said the singer.

Another song that will be of significance is Thuthukani from the album Thuthukani ngothando. The track encourages people to work hard and be masters of their destiny.

“You know as Africans we are people who are endowed with skills in various fields and we should strive to uplift one another and stop being cry babies and work towards achieving our goals, as a result we would become masters of our destiny,” he said.
Speaking to Sunday Leisure the Bulawayo kingpin said he will be reaching back to his roots.

“I am originally from Filabusi so I’m going there to celebrate Africa Day with the people of Gwanda and surrounding areas. I will be with my eight-member band and I promise to give them worthy entertainment that will make Africa Day celebrations worthy to remember,” he told Sunday Life Leisure.
