Kingdom patterns

Greetings beloved nation in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. God is a God of patterns. When Jesus came on earth one of his missions was to show God’s people the patterns of God and how God operates. We see in the Old and New Testament how people who followed God’s patterns succeeded. They had marvellous results, made history and entered into places where once you enter it was not possible to come out. But because they were God’s people who understood and knew the patterns of God, they succeeded.

No men or women who follow God’s pattern will fail in life or in the mission they are doing. We discovered in the Bible that when it comes to patterns God is very serious and strict about the exact pattern. If you see a family failing or falling they have to check with God if they are they still following God’s pattern about marriage. If you see a business going down, let the owner consult with God or check if they are still following God’s pattern for business. If a church is failing to dominate and take over, the men and women of God should check with God if they are still following God’s pattern.

We see in the scriptures the people of God who did not follow God’s pattern, some were cut off and some failed dismally even though they were carrying the plans and purposes of God in their lives. In everything that we do whether it’s a young man dating or starting a business, a ministry, if they are not in line with God’s pattern, that very thing will fail.

Moses was told by God to deliver God’s people from bondage. We read about God giving Moses a pattern to follow and exact measurements to follow. In the book of Exodus 25, God started to speak to Moses about the tabernacle and we see God giving Moses the exact pattern that God wanted, not what Moses wanted or what the Israelites wanted.

Because remember that for us to succeed, we need to know exactly what patterns we need to follow. In these last days that we were living in, we see men and women of God who want the church or God’s projects to be done according to their ways because they have certain levels of education, forgetting that the church is being run by God’s patterns. We have witnessed splits in the body of Christ because there are certain groups that want to do their own things forgetting that the church belongs to Christ.

I once heard a story about a certain businessman who built a church with his money. After having done that he told the pastor never to preach about fornication or adultery, should he do so he would withdraw his support from the church programmes. God forbid that people should think that they can order God around because they have accomplished certain achievements in their lives.

In Exodus 25:9, it says, “According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it”.

We see God giving Moses instructions about building the tabernacle and the instruments to be used. But emphasis was made about following the pattern. Many people have surely followed the pattern but not fully. They have gone half way and are busy asking God where is the glory or the breakthrough? They are asking why am I still not married, why am I divorced, why is my business not growing? We see in the scriptures that the glory of God only comes when we follow fully the pattern of God and not just half way.

We see this happening in the life of Moses in the Exodus 40:33-35. We notice that Moses finished the work, so there is a finishing that should be done and we see that the cloud covered the tent of the congregation and the glory of the Lord came down. Why? Because Moses finished what God had instructed him to do. So the glory of the Lord is attracted in our lives or our projects according to his pattern and when we finish following what He has commanded us to do. Whenever you see the glory in the lives of God’s people or things working out in some people’s marriages, churches, businesses, when you try to find out the reasons behind that you will discover that these people are people who followed fully the pattern of the Lord upon their lives. There is no man who just rises from nowhere or by luck.

It’s by obedience to God’s patterns.

We see the apostles in the book of Acts 1:4 being given by Jesus the pattern that attracted the Holy Spirit mightily upon their lives. The pattern was that they should not depart from Jerusalem but wait for the father. We see the 120 disciples in the upper room waiting for the power from high, including Mary the mother of Jesus who carried Jesus by the spirit of God, also waiting for the Holy Ghost.

The reason Jesus told them to wait was because it was going to be dangerous for them to go out there in the world without receiving power from high, because they were going to meet the Bar-Jesus kind of people who walk in the demonic supernatural powers, who are filled with the word of knowledge that derives from the second heavens and demonic prophecies, people like Philip the sorcerer, so they needed the power so that they can confront these demonic supernatural powers. We see people like Peter preaching under the influence of the Holy Spirit, just one sermon and 3 000 people giving their lives to Jesus. Why? Because they followed the pattern that their master Jesus gave them.

In the book of Genesis 6:14-16, it says “Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. 15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. 16 You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks”

We see God giving Noah a pattern for building the ark, the type of wood, the rooms he was supposed to make, where it was supposed to be pitched and the length of the ark. We notice that God is very strict about the pattern and God gave Noah the exact cubits, the sizes of the windows and the doors. And because of that we see animals coming from different directions and it was the pattern that attracted these animals without anyone calling them.
If you allow God’s pattern in your life, you will be amazed by the great results that you will witness in your marriage, life, church or finances.
