DESPITE losing her sister Chiedza recently, Ammara Brown said she is recovering well from the grief and still maintains her good appearance and brilliance in the music industry where she is working on a video with Guspy Warrior.
The video is of the single that the two young artistes put up together recently called How Could You.
Her artistic abilities confirms that she is not in the music industry by accident or coincidence but that she inherited the music genes from her late music iconic father Andy Brown as she has fashioned a number of great music pieces.

The songbird who has both class and style lost her young sister Chiedza in the United Kingdom recently. She, however, said although it was painful and hard to forget she was now looking at her music career while working to get past the loss.

In an interview with Sunday Leisure, Ammara confirmed that the inspiration behind her ever glowing, smiley face and fantastic voice is her three-year-old son Khameel.

“Grieving for the most part does not get easier, but at some point you realise we are all going to join our loved ones in the afterlife, and they are simply resting. My son, Khameel, is the key in my constant inspiration to live life to the fullest. That means constantly healing, learning, growing and thriving,” she said.

The talented musician also said that during her spare time she gives most of her time to her son adding that he was her first priority.

“As a mother of one I give most of my time to my one and only, I love raising my son. In the little spare time I get I also take care of my body by practicing yoga and working out. I also love to cook for my friends,” said Ammara.

The 27-year-old recently won the Musician of the Year award at the Zimbabwe International Women Awards (Ziwa) held in early last month. She said she was grateful to her fans and the organisers of the award for the recognition adding that the award was the first in her career.

“I feel so humbled by this award. My fans voted for me and I won. It is just the most amazing feeling. It was definitely a surprise, my fellow nominees were all incredible in their own way, so I was not sure which way it would go. I feel encouraged to keep moving forward,” she said.

Ammara said she has to move on despite the challenges that life often throws at her and she is currently working on her latest production and recently she had collaboration on a song How Could You with the popular Seunononga hit maker — Guspy Warrior whose video she said was in the incubator.

“Guspy and I are yet to get into studio but we have performed together before and have a great synergy on stage. The video How Could You has me as an actress, playing his heart-breaking girlfriend. I cannot wait to complete the project,” she added.

She also confirmed that she was working on her album titled Ammartia and she was planning to go back to Johannesburg for other arts projects as well.

“I am currently working on my album — Ammartia. Grieving my sister definitely took me off course for a few months, but I am emotionally and mentally ready to complete it now. I am also about to go back to Johannesburg to be a part of the reproduction of Steve Dyer’s “Colour Me Human,” said the light skinned beauty.

She also gave words of inspiration to women who are trying to pursue their careers in male- dominated industries out there urging them to maintain their focus on their dreams and goals.

“As a woman my advice is to remember that you are a product and that you are the boss of your business. Some people will make business more difficult for you because you refuse to become romantically involved with them. The music industry is a male-dominated industry, after all, so do not let it phase you. Be a champion on your own terms; stay focused, and remain professional. Work hard, work smart, and you will be unstoppable,” she said.
