BAFA log leaders Rebels FC could open wide their lead at the top when they take on Victory FC in a rescheduled fixture this morning at Barbourfields Outside Grounds.

Rebels have amassed 25 points from nine games while second-placed Unity Village and third-placed Anolle Castings are both on 24 but have played two more games.

A win for Rebels will see them open a four-point gap while they have another chance to extend their lead at the top if they win their other outstanding fixtures.

Other rescheduled fixtures set for today will see Mpilo United square off against Nga Chronicle  while Mat High City are up against Jokers FC.

Fixtures secretary, Peter Chikepe said while other teams are resting this week those with outstanding fixtures are playing catch up to ensure all teams are level going ahead.

“There were some games that were not played and we are using this opportunity to give them a chance to ensure all teams have played the same number of games, so we only have three games.

“Other teams have played 11 games already but some like Rebels are on nine while Mpilo United has only played seven,” he said.

Meanwhile in the Ntabazinduna Football Association, Golden Arrows and Willowgate head into the break tied on 30 points at the top but Arrows are at the summit of the log due to a superior goal difference.

Arrows have been on a free scoring run having netted 44 goals in 14 matches translating to an average of just above three goals a match while they have only conceded 15 goals meaning they have a goal difference of 34 while Willowgate’s goal difference stands at 10 as they have scored 25 and conceded 15.

With the league in a mid-season break, teams that had outstanding fixtures will be taking to the field to make up for the gap with Ntabazinduna taking on Globe Trotters while Bhekeni squares off against Paramount today.

Meanwhile in the Bulawayo Christian League, Victory Fellowship are on pole position after 13 games as they have 33 points with Flying Stars on second place with 32 points from the same number of games.

Zion Apostle Church are third with 27 points from 12 games while House of Prayer Generation is fourth on 25 points but they have played 13 games.

His Presence Ministries anchors the 14-team log as they are yet to win a single match and have one point to show from their 13 games with Pelandaba Stars second from bottom with three points from the same number of games.
