IDENTIFICATION of committed players, suitable players as well as listening to advice from elders of the club is finally paying dividends for Bulawayo Social Soccer League team Mthala.
These were the words of their organising secretary Paulos Mhlanga before their league match against Congo at Bango in Mpopoma this morning. Mhlanga explained that the recruitment of players who love the game of football in addition to understanding what it means to play for a social team as big as Mthala is finally paying dividends as shown by their fine run in the league so far.
“First we had to look for players who had an interest in playing soccer for our team, then incorporate them and see how they gel with the rest of the team. After identifying such players we took them on board and built a united hungry team that can fight for the championship. We also listened to advice from our elders who have stood with the team for years now, people like Douglas “British” Mloyi, Ernest “Maphepha” Sibanda, as well as Chris “Zvidobi” Mhlanga, among others,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, according to Edson Sibanda the fixtures secretary the teams will be in action today as part of their match day 21 programme.
