STARS FC secretary general Linda Bhebhe thinks the 2022 Bulawayo Social soccer league season has been one of the toughest battles ever, filled with a lot of upsets.
She said teams have been forced to dig deep into their bags of tricks to remain relevant in the league race.
“This has been one of the toughest battles ever. It is proving to be a test of character and has made us realise that anything is possible in the game of football hence no team is to be taken lightly. This has been a season filled with great surprises, upsets and challenges. Against all odds, we are not deterred as our eyes are still set on the trophy,” she declared.
Stars FC, who are the reigning champions, are on 80 points. They are second on the table, eight points behind the leaders Man U who are looking good after collecting 88 points. Other teams who still have a mathematical chance of snatching the trophy are Glenkara as well as Mthala. Man U player – coach Jasiah “Joker” Kashiri, however, remains cautious about the proceedings and said they have not changed their approach of taking one game at a time.
“For us as Man U nothing has changed, we are still going with the one game at a time mentality,” said Kashiri.
More spills as well as drama are expecting today when teams clash in match day 35 starting from 1100hrs in the morning.
