TONDERAI Ndiraya added another fine chapter to his growing profile as a coach when he guided Ngezi Platinum Stars to the semi-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup in only their first season in the top flight.

Dynamos reject Kenneth Bulaji, top scorer James Nguluve, gangly centre back Liberty Chakoroma and Donald Teguru were on target for Ndiraya’s men.

Tsholotsho got their face saver from the boot of right back McClive Phiri who could have scored a brace had he not missed a penalty.

Red-hot Ngezi Platinum Stars were quick off the blocks and opened the floodgates in the 11th minute when Bulaji rounded off Tsholotsho keeper Nickel Marichi.

However, their celebrations were cut short as Tsholotsho responded three minutes later through Phiri who was allowed acres of space to pick up his spot from inside the box.

It was 3-1 to Ngezi nine minutes from the oranges when the club’s leading scorer Nguluve tapped home a rebound after Chakoroma’s effort had crashed against the bar.

Tsholotsho had a perfect opportunity to claw back into the game when referee Pedzisayi Chadya awarded them a penalty after Partson Jaure handled in the 70th minute.

But Phiri’s kick was saved by Warriors trialist Nelson Chadya and it remained 3-1 in favour of Ngezi going into the last quarter of the match.

Teguru then put the game to bed six minutes from time when he outpaced Tsholotsho skipper Nkosilathi Moyo before placing the ball beyond the reach of an already outdrawn Marichi.
