FORMER Bulawayo City coach, Try Ncube has joined Victoria Falls-based Mosi Rovers as their new mentor.

Mosi Rovers play in the Zifa Southern Region Division One league where they survived relegation last season.

Ncube recently resigned from Amakhosi, a team he guided back to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after winning the Zifa Southern Region Division One where they spent just one season.

The 46-year-old Ncube, a holder of a Caf B coaching qualification had applied for exemption from Zifa in order to take charge of Amakhosi in the PSL. Ncube said he left Bulawayo City to take up a new challenge. He expressed his gratefulness to Philani “Beefy” Ncube who engaged him as his assistant in 2016. Philani has since made a return to Amakhosi as their head coach for this season.

“I left Bulawayo City to have a new challenge, I spent four wonderful years at Bulawayo City. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by the executive. I also thank The Godfather Philani ‘Beefy’ Ncube who recommended me to the executive as his second assistant coach in 2016,’’ Ncube said.

At the Mosi Rovers awards ceremony held last month, club chairman Martin Mhlanga stated that after surviving relegation, their target was to strengthen their squad and bring premiership football to Victoria Falls.

For Try, going back to Victoria Falls means he is heading home since he has a house in the resort town and his family lives there. He takes over the Mosi Rovers coaching position from Mehluli Moyo who assumed the role on a voluntary basis after the departure of Gift Lunga Junior.
