MATABELELAND South Zimbabwe Liberation War Collaborators (Ziliwaco) has rolled out an exercise to mobilise votes for the ruling Zanu-PF to ensure the party wins all the 13 constituencies in the province during next year’s harmonised elections.

Ziliwaco has pledged its support for President Mnangagwa in next year’s harmonised elections with the national leadership urging its members to go out and mobilise votes for Zanu-PF.

Ziliwaco has engaged in a voter mass mobilisation campaign titled “Ziliwaco for ED #mass mobilisation for 2023 harmonised elections. Under the campaign, Ziliwaco seeks to mobilise as many votes as possible for the Zanu-PF starting with their family members.

Its national leadership recently moved across provinces urging members to embark in voter mass mobilisation. In an interview Matabeleland South Ziliwaco chairperson Cde Beauty Moyo said they recently held a meeting where they were crafting strategies on how to mobilise votes.

“Part of the purpose of the meeting was to come up with a strategy to mobilise votes for President Mnangagwa and the Zanu-PF party. As Ziliwaco Matabeleland South we are fully behind President Mnangagwa and Zanu-PF for the 2023 elections. We understand the role that we have to play as Ziliwaco to mobilise votes and ensure a clean sweep in the province. We are prepared to play our part as Ziliwaco in the province. We will work tirelessly to ensure that the party secures all constituencies,” she said.

Cde Moyo added: “As Ziliwaco we are saying each member should first start by bringing on board their children, family and relatives. From there our web will grow and we will move on to incorporate our neighbours and before you know it the whole community will be on board.”

She said they have also urged members to ensure that they were registered to vote and had necessary documentation that would enable them to participate in the elections. Cde Moyo said the strategy was to have as much Ziliwaco members as possible voting in next year’s elections as they had pledged their support for Zanu-PF. She said they were pleased with efforts being done by Government to address their welfare.

“We are also encouraging our members who were not vetted to submit their names as the vetting exercise will come back soon to cater for those who were left out. The vetting exercise is a clear sign that Government is working towards addressing our welfare and soon we shall be reaping the rewards,” she said. – @DubeMatutu.
