ZIFA Southern Region Division One teams Mosi Rovers, Amagagasi and Victoria Fall Tigers, all from Victoria Falls received a shot in the arm in their endeavour to embrace a more professional outlook during football matches after they received first aid kits donations from a local touring company Wild Horizons (Pvt) Ltd.

The three kits worth $200 each were handed over last Friday at the Wild Horizons office to the chairpersons of the three clubs.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Wild Horizons business development and corporate affairs director Barbra Murasiranwa said her company was motivated by the desire to see football developing in a town better known for tourism.

“As Wild Horizons, we have decided to assist our local teams who are doing a lot to nurture young football talent in the town as we are fully aware that most teams are sponsored by individuals and not companies.

Soccer is now huge business and as a company we will also do more for sport development in the future so that we have healthy teams and we hope other corporates will also chip in one way or the other to ensure the town also nurtures their own big football stars,’’ said Murasiranwa.

Mosi Rovers FC chairman Mubita Mwanda thanked Wild Horizons for the generous sponsorship.

“In football most clubs only value the football kit but if you look closely you would realise that most clubs don’t have such fully stocked first aid kits hence I would like to pay tribute to the company for equipping our clubs and we will reciprocate by bringing in favourable results to the community.

This should motivate other corporates to also help football which is crying for help,” said Mwanda.

Chairpersons for Amagagasi and Tigers respectively Bhekitemba Mlotshwa and Bongani Mpofu also said the sponsorship gesture is enough motivation to do better on the soccer pitch. — @tobymandox
