FROM the 1980s to date, an agriculture company, Zadzamatura, continues to provide farmers with a wide range of products with maize one of their main line products.

Zadzamatura Matabeleland representative Dr Daniel Myers said the company was offering and distributing a wider range of products to cater for different farmers.

“Our products include wheat, soya beans, sorghum, millet, sunflower, groundnuts and sugar beans just to name a few. We are also well represented throughout the whole country in each province by 10 agronomists and we greatly support the current Pfumvudza/Intwasa programme by Government which has had a resounding success this year with the help of Zadzamatura products as well,” said Dr Myers.

With Zadzamatura distributing Monsanto-Dekalb products that are 100 percent exclusive genetic diversity, innovative breeding and strong agronomics to maximise performance and success, these could be found in supermarket chains, Farm and City stores and other shops that sell farming products throughout the country.

“We also demonstrate to farmers how they can fully utilise farming and get tremendous yields, hence we popularise our products by doing demonstrations. And those demonstrations are followed up by farmer field scores, farmer discussions and field days among other activities,” he said.

Dr Myers also noted that their organisation was more inclined to working and giving back to the communities. He said the company was in the process of drilling a borehole in Matobo as a token of appreciation to the continuous support they get from the community.

“As a way of supporting the community we work with, we are in the process of drilling a borehole for a village garden called the Gonde Irrigation Scheme in Ward 23 of Matobo District. We like being part of the community wherever we are doing business in Matabeleland North and South, as well as the other parts of the country,” added Dr Myers.

The company also offers seed, fertiliser and agro-chemicals to further enhance the productivity and profitability of farmers.

Zadzamatura is also a partner of EcoFarmer smart farming’s Diaspora Agriculture Finance Plan which allows Zimbabweans that are based in the Diaspora to buy agricultural inputs and pay for tillage services for their loved ones back home.
