CO-FOUNDER and administrator of Millennium Footwear and ZimTrade mentor for the Next She Exporters’ programme, Mrs Sikhangezokuhle Simali has died.
She was 48. Mrs Simali succumbed to cancer on Thursday morning. He husband who is the founder and director of Millennium Footwear Mr Stuart Simali said his wife passed away after a short illness.
“She was a dedicated and passionate person. She loved her work and was always willing to uplift others, her passing away leaves a big gap to all those who worked closely with her as evidenced by the number of condolence messages received from local companies, regional and international associates.”
ZimTrade southern region manager Mrs Jacqueline Nyathi said they were devastated by the loss of Mrs Simali.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing on of Mrs Simali who had grown to be a part of the ZimTrade family because of the close working relationship we had with her as we engaged them as Millennium Footwear to grow their exports. She was also a member of our mentorship team that works to nurture female entrepreneurs and prepare them for the journey in exports. Our deepest condolences to the Simali family,” said Mrs Nyathi.
Mrs Simali was an accountant by profession and had worked for a leading clothing retail before joining her husband at Millennium Footwear. She also held a marketing and public relations portfolio at Millenium Footwear which saw her travel around the world for exhibitions under the ZimTrade banner where she attended various expos that include the China African
Economic and Trade Expo and the Dubai Gifts and Lifestyle Trade Fair among others. She is survived by her husband, and two children, Stuart Junior and Frank.
