THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company has sold 72 percent of its space for the Mine Entra exhibition, an increase from last year’s 43 percent during the same period.
The general manager, Mrs Nomathemba Ndlovu, expressed satisfaction at the interest shown by both local and foreign exhibitors to exhibit at the showcase.

This year’s exhibition will be held from 22 to 24 July under the theme, “Unearthing Opportunities”.
The event will be officially opened by Mines and Mining Development Minister Cde Walter Chidakwa.

“With a month to go to the 2015 edition of the country’s premier mining engineering and transport exhibition, Mine Entra, organisers are pleased with the preparations to date.

“Exhibition space is selling well with 72 percent of available space having already been reserved compared to 43 percent at the same time last year,” Mrs Ndlovu said.

Of the 123 exhibitors who have taken the space, four were foreign with country representation coming from China, Germany and South Africa.
“The exhibitor profile consists mainly of specialised companies supplying exploration, extraction, processing or beneficiation machinery, as well as suppliers of equipment relating to the engineering and transporting of mining resources. Exhibition stands are still available and we encourage exhibitors who have not already done so to book their space so as to enjoy the early booking discount rates,” Mrs Ndlovu said.

She also said visitor registration for the event was also at its peak with those interested invited to register online at www.zitf.net
“To date registered visitors include mine managers, metallurgists, technical and operations managers, buying managers, government officials, consultants, among other sector technocrats,” Mrs Ndlovu said.

The exhibition will run concurrently with three business networking events namely the Mine Entra, Joint Suppliers and Producers and the Small Scale and Artisanal miners conferences.

The Mine Entra conference would present an opportunity for the mining industry leaders to meet key policy makers including Government to deliberate on issues affecting the industry.

“Particular emphasis will be on the topical issues of value addition and beneficiation, that is, progress to date as well as what the challenges and recommendations are. This conference is organised in conjunction with the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe,” Mrs Ndlovu said.

The Joint Suppliers and Producers Conference is largely a forum for upstream players in the mining value chain to meet with the users of their products and services, that is, the mining houses, to discuss opportunities and challenges to their business co-operation. The Small Scale and Artisanal Miners Conference, is mainly a platform for this special interest group to meet with relevant policy makers and suppliers to discuss issues which are pertinent to them.
