NEWLY-LICENSED, Victoria Falls radio station will hold its first broadcast from the resort town in December this year, an authority from the station has said.
Fair Talk Communications chief executive officer Qhubani Moyo said they were waiting for studio equipment from Scotland.

“We are working meticulously so that we stand as a competitive radio station. We are setting up our studio step by step to produce the best radio station,” said Moyo.

He also said it was essential for the country to have a radio station in the resort town so as to set a good image of the country.

“Victoria Falls is a key tourist destination. It is wise for us to have a well-established radio station there so as to set a good image of Zimbabwe,” said Moyo.

He also said they had not encountered any hiccups and the process of setting up the station was moving smoothly.
“We haven’t encountered any challenges, we are on track and our processes are moving smoothly. The only hiccup that we had was on the failure by the manufacturer of equipment to meet certain time line. But otherwise we are all set and ready to give the people of the Zambezi Valley a radio that will be part of their everyday menu,” said Moyo.

Breeze FM is a commercial radio station that was licensed in March this year by the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe.

Other stations that were licensed are still yet to go on air, while others such as YA FM in Zvishavane have already started broadcasting.
