BRAHMA Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation Centre in Bulawayo will this week hold an annual event known as the Shivajayanti Celebration that seeks to draw people to purify both the mind and soul to achieve inner peace, so as to be one with God.

Shivajayanti is celebrated worldwide, with Bulawayo hosting it at the Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation Centre in Suburbs this Saturday.

The event is free to the public, where various talks and video presentations will be held.

“We are currently in a critical period in the history of mankind but there is GOOD NEWS: God himself, the Creator, has personally revealed that this world has reached the final stage of degradation in which sorrow, pain, disease and violence is prevalent and that a new world, a heavenly world of peace, happiness and prosperity will be restored,” read a profile about the event issued to Sunday Leisure.

It was stated that this period was known as the Auspicious Confluence Age.

“It is in this period that we see the rise and fall of the human spirit. This, however, depends on our personal growth. As the saying goes: ‘When I change, the world changes’. The Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation Centre offers the facilities and experiences required for both self-realisation and God-realisation.

“As the world continues to involve itself in ever increasing socio, religious and political problems it helps to get things in perspective. We have all heard the expression, as well as remember ‘the good old days’. We have witnessed a slow but sure downfall in mankind as he moves further and further away from theocratic and divine law,” read part of the profile.

History revealed that at the beginning of the world, during Adam and Eve’s era, the world was authentic, pure, peaceful and beautiful with no trace of sorrow and was a paradise of peace.

“Gradually, as we moved through the world cycle of time our divine qualities diminished. We opened a Pandora’s Box of desire. The Eve within us, the temptress, the sweet talk within our own minds, convinced us that we could eat the forbidden fruit. As we succumbed to our weaker inner voice and the constraints of a deteriorating society we lost our clarity and began to indulge ourselves, a practice which created lust, attachment, anger, greed and ego within us.

“This literally made us unconscious, dulled our intellect and enslaved us to our degraded practices. We have reached a point where we can barely differentiate between good and evil. At the 9 500 Brahma Kumaris Centres throughout the world, we are dedicated to the uplifting of humanity, restoring self-worth, self-esteem, self-respect, self-realisation and eliminating all the barriers and detrimental negative attitudes based on untruthful differences of caste, colour and creed. Once we realise that we are our own worst enemy, as well as the master creator of our lives, we can take steps to creating an enriched and positive life for ourselves and those around us,” read the statement.

Brahma Kumaris seeks to aide people in leaning away from degrading, diminishing, dogmatism, deterioration, disguise, disproportionate, demanding, defeated, dollar and dependency and move into discipline, determination, decisions, dedication and desireless.

“This is in effect to move away from unconscious to conscious, enslaved to liberated, disempowered to empowered, selfish to selfism. The divine activity of God is to restore us to our former inner beauty, our power, our purity, our happiness, our love and our peace, all of which is within us and which we have forgotten.

“God comes to remind us to remember all that we have forgotten. God’s task is World Transformation. His task began in 1936, when he used as an instrument, the physical body of Dada Lek Raj otherwise known as Brahma Baba or Adam,” read the statement.

It was said that Brahma Baba then became the first soul to implement the divine directions given by God.

“One could say that it was at this point that the Dark Night of the Soul, the era of sorrow, and the era of complete spiritual darkness, the Iron Age or Shiv Ratri (The Night of Shiva) began to end. God descended or incarnated in the body of Brahma Baba to give us the knowledge of how to return to Him, how to return to peace and happiness, how to return to and experience the original, divine, eternal self. It is the point at which God entered the body of Brahma Baba and used it to give knowledge that is known as Shiv Jayanti (The Birth of Shiva).

So God does not come in a flash and a bang, waving a magical wand and establishing “Paradise on Earth.” Paradise has to be re-established through our dedication to the highest principles and our personal return through effort to the supreme self, the self that is a reflection of the divine, of God. Once again man becomes the image of God, which is Light.

God’s teachings enable us to transcend our negativity and weakness and ascend once again to our subtle, spiritual condition. He has given us this time of the Confluence Age, which is the age between the end of the Iron Age and the beginning of the Golden Age, to transform ourselves, to master, create a pure and benevolent age.”
