FINGERS Modelling Agency crowned Mr and Miss Fingers last week in an event that was hosted by former Amakorokoza actor and head of the modelling agency Sarah Mpofu-Sibanda, who this year became the licence holder of Miss Tourism Zimbabwe.

Held in front of the Fingers Hair Salon and Modelling Agency in Bulawayo, the event crowned Trinity Gasela aka Riley as Mr Fingers and Natasha Carol Gora as Miss Fingers who were among the nine students that also graduated.

Other graduates’ names are Linda Tanya Ncube, Bethel Musawenkosi Dube, Gugulethu Msimanga, Nandipha Josephine, Bulle Caroline Ngwenya, Chiedza A Majongosi and Makhosazana Elizabeth Hlatshwayo.

The proud graduates completed a four-month course in which each student was required to pay a fee of $30. On the day of the well-organised event, graduates dazzled the audience and the judges with their summer and casual wear as well as a short drama with a theme of teaching potential models how to act after 21 years.

The now Mr Fingers, Riley said all graduates had learnt a lot during the course and they are thankful to their mentor, Sarah.

“During the course, all students were taught the importance of exercising, hair care, and clothing choice and skin care. We were also taught about taking good care of ourselves in the public. It was such a wonderful experience. All of us are very proud of being modelling graduates especially after being mentored by Miss Tourism License holder, Sarah,” he said.

The Fingers Modelling Agency has been a vital source of successful models in Zimbabwe. It has mentored the likes of Lorraine Maphala who was Miss Zimbabwe in 2005 and Caroline Marufu who was Miss Tourism Zimbabwe in 2006.

Last year’s Mr Zimbabwe People’s Choice winner, Shadel Noble is part of the Fingers Modelling Agency and was also part of the graduation ceremony.
Riley said it was such an honour being part of the modelling agency which has groomed many successful models and is determined to make his dream come true.

“It’s a big a challenge being a model. I will do everything to reach my goal of becoming the next renowned model in Zimbabwe. The fact that the agency has produced many thriving models since its formation makes me feel positive that I will someday become one of them,” he added. @Ncube Bhekumuzi
