BULAWAYO-BORN South Africa-based hip-hop and rap artiste Mlue Jay has released a single featuring popular South Africa’s house and kwaito artiste Smallz of the Money Maker hit.
In the song, So Dangerous, Mlue Jay real name Mlungisi Moyo and Smallz talk about having their eyes on a certain girl who happens to be the night’s attraction in the club and everyone wants to have a piece of her.
The song joins contemporary greats like Professor’s Jezebel and P Square’s Chop My Money as it too is a song that comically laments the wayward tendencies of a flighty lady.
Mlue described the process of putting the song together as a rewarding experience as he got to do it with artistes who have already made names for themselves in the South African music industry.
“Working on the single was surreal. I was surrounded by so many great musicians. Smallz was there and we got to work with producer JJ who produced Zahara’s debut album.
These two initially approached me after they heard one of my songs on radio and from then it was just hard work on the single,” Mlue said.
He described So Dangerous as an upbeat house tune that anyone could relate to if not for its catchy sound then perhaps because it is a love song and everyone loves a love song.
“It is a love song, I believe that is why those who have heard it enjoy it and also because of its cheery nature, it is slowly becoming a street anthem,” he said.
Mlue is in Bulawayo, promoting the single through a series of performances at different spots around the city.
The So Dangerous Club Tour will run over the next six weeks as Mlue graces different clubs to perform the song which is also available on online platforms.
