High-end boutique in Bulawayo, Mzansi 4 Sure has been subject to not one, two or three but four burglaries in a period of less than a year, with burglars getting away with latest trends in fashion worth thousands of dollars.

The daring burglars, captured on CCTV are seen trying on different clothes before making away with their loot. Fed up of the constant losses; the owner of the famed boutique Maideyi Makope recently shared a picture of one of the burglars, which was captured on CCTV, asking the public to assist her and the police with information that could lead to the arrest of the felon.

She posted a picture on Facebook and several social media groups asking for assistance:

“Please help me identify this guy, he breaks into shops gaining access through roofs. If you know him please get in touch with CID stores, thank you,” she wrote on the captioned picture collage.

In an interview she said she had already reported the matter to the police, who are still investigating the crime.

“It’s really annoying, the economy is harsh and someone has the audacity to break into a shop and steal someone else’s hard earned savings,” she said.

Makope said the burglar gained access to her shops through the ceilings, which she has since burglar-proofed.

“They gain access through the ceiling. I think they gain access to the building through the alley ways. They should be brought to justice,” she said adding that she was still checking on her stock to determine how much had been stolen.

Makope said the burglars would gain access into her shops at odd hours.

“The CCTV would report that they would be in the shop at around 8pm and at 5am, which is odd because people would still be in town and the city centre would be active. This time around the burglar (s) broke the alarm system and CCTV but there are possible leads. What’s funny is that the fronts of my shops are made of glass and who would be brave enough to break into such a shop? We noticed that the burglars moved the clothing rails around to create a barrier, perhaps so that people don’t see them while they were committing the crimes,” she said.

Makope strongly appealed to members of the public to assist in the identification of the suspect (s).
