ESPAGORATING is a word which I think is one or two months old. But ask how many people use it now when they are sqwintilising in their daily activities — catching the kombi, shopping, or gossiping over the hedge. There I caught you thinking over it, it’s a funny word isn’t it? And it reminds us of those days at high school when we were trying to speak like university graduates and inventing all those high sounding words.

Of course there are those who might be hearing “espagorating” for the first time. This is an expensive and rare word which I can assure you that you will not bump into it everywhere you go just like the word “please,” or “excuse.”
If it was to be auctioned I think it would get very very high bids.

Now, your not knowing it might mean two things. That you are not on Facebook, or if you are, you are not following the new sensation there, the Team Bulawayo page, which features the now hugely famous Uglyshia as one of the main acts.
I want to laugh, but let me hold it and write.

Well, this comedian, Uglyshia, has people bursting in laughter every time a video of her is posted. Well, for now I will say “her,” and I know you will know what I mean. If you don’t, search for the Team Bulawayo page today, and join us in laughter.

The high energy dancing in the video is something out of this world, and will leave you the onlooker with a side pain under your ribs.
Uglyshia, amongst her many tricks, has come up with her own brand new vocabulary of English words. But I hesitate before I say English, as I am at a loss of which language these new words can be classed in, but as they are spoken at a time when he — er — um — when she is speaking in English, we will assume they are English too.

One of the most famous words, which, as I said, everyone seems to be using now, or if you are not, which might be playing in your mind, is “espagoration.” I hope I got the spelling right, as sometimes it sounds like “expagoration.”

Like I said too, please don’t ask me what it means, but use the old strategy of guessing the meaning of words you don’t know if you have no dictionary nearby, and hopefully you will get this one too.

There is no word without a meaning – even sounds have meanings too.
I will admit I was one of those who checked this word in the dictionary the first time I heard it, for, I was thinking, here I am, a writer, and proud of the fact that I have a massive vocabulary of words, almost 99,5 percent of those in the most comprehensive English dictionary, and here was a comedian saying one I didn’t know!

And what did I find in the dictionary? You can guess. I found nothing. No such word has ever existed before, or if it did in some far gone era, it was quickly buried under the sands of time.

And so too the other word I mentioned, sqwintilising, which is almost half Ndebele and half Eglish as “sqwi” is prounced in Ndebele, and “ntilising” in English.

Talk about an innovative 21st century invention. This one must be given a Nama in 2016, for Outstanding Word.
I will not spoil the fun and mention who Uglyshia is, just go to the videos and find out for yourself — that is if you like them, as I know there are those who will say we don’t waste time watching such things as we are too busy.

But congratulations to the Team Bulawayo Facebook page, it is providing people with much needed entertainment, just as the Zvirikufaya pages are also doing.

And talking about videos on social media like Facebook and Youtube and the like. Here I was thinking to myself this morning, that why has nobody come up with something called TVbook?

Of course we know there is Vimeo, YouTube, Instagram you name it, but why not TVbook to add to all those that are already there?
So don’t be surprised one of these years to hear that I have become a social media mogul with billions in the bank from my new invention, this TVbook, and guess who will be the main advertiser for it, of course, natürlich — Uglyshia yeaaaah!
