ECCENTRICITY would best describe a self-proclaimed traditional healer from Mangwe District, whose claim to fame is fertility herbs and love potions.
At age 62, Luke Ndlovu says he ventured into the trade in 2011, where he mainly focused on sexual dysfunctions in both men and women.
He paid a visit to Sunday News offices recently with his bag of herbs, where he narrated his tale.
“I have healed many people. Many are in the police force and they are grateful of my herbs,” said Ndlovu.
“The herbs are taken in courses, the first line cleans ones’ system; the second one is for boosting and strengthening ones’ sexual prowess. The third helps to boost fertility and the fourth is for boosting those that are absolutely infertile. They take the herbs for six months and I can boldly guarantee that a baby will be conceived soon after,” said Ndlovu.
He said the herbs worked wonders if taken with traditional foods and not fast foods, which he said slowed the process.
“I find my herbs in my area, with the blessing of the Zimbabwe Traditional Healers Association (Zinatha). The organisation only allows us to look for herbs for a short period, which is from May to September. That is the period when the herbs are least potent and safe for human consumption,” said Ndlovu.
He said he derived his healing powers and knowledge from his ancestors, from both his father and mother’s side.
“I am very flexible, I don’t operate from one location but travel a lot. That is what my ancestors told me,” he said.
Ndlovu also claimed that he had herbs and trinkets that could be used to turn a sour marriage blissful.
“I can also wash away bad luck, help one find love, help people find jobs among many issues,” he said.
Ndlovu also said he had found a method in which he could “unlock” men or women, who would have been cursed by their partners.
He said his fertility herbs could produce results within three and six months.
“I have even assisted medical doctors who could not conceive, through scientific methods,” he declared.
The need for sexual enhancing products and herbs has grown over the past years, with an array of traditional healers sprouting across the country, each claiming to have herbs that can boost sexual prowess and libido.
This has also seen the influx of foreign traditional healers, who are seen as mere opportunists to make easy money from members of the public.
