The stature of Royal Destiny, a UK-based gospel music group continues to grow with the group set to share the stage with Joyous Celebration’s Mkhululi Bhebhe and Sbu Noah Mthembu, among other international acts.

The group, made up of Christians originally from Zimbabwe will be part of the Praise Tour UK which will run from 7 to 9 July, and will be held at Birmingham, London and Manchester. Joining the tour will be Zimbabwe-based Tawanda Magunde, aka

Minister Tee. Bhebhe, a Zimbabwean based in South Africa, is known for the hit track Ichokwadi here and another big name in the line-up is Lebo Sebogqola of the Lion of Juda fame.

Magunde said he used to follow his music icons on social media not knowing that he would one day share a stage with them.

He said he started his music career at a young age when he told his parents he wanted to be a professional musician. He said it was a struggle to convince his parents who wanted him to study “something sensible”.

“I knew what I wanted to do and that music was my calling.”

The versatile all round artiste is a singer, song writer, choreographer and plays several instruments including acoustic guitar, piano, saxophone, drums and bass guitar. He is also a producer in his own right. Magunde started his journey as a professional gospel in 2012 with the dynamic gospel group Zim Praise. He later joined Xtreme Afrique from 2013 to 2016. He wrote and featured on the Afro Jazz Gospel song Ndiringe which became quite popular on social media networks.

He also co-featured on the song Chisikwa which received a nomination for Best Video of the year on Zima Awards in 2015. He is now concentrating on his solo career although he is a part of the international gospel group Royal Destiny, having started working with the group in 2016.

He has featured in several songs on the album that was released recently by Royal Destiny including the album title track Toda LeCha Elohim (Thank you Lord). Tawanda has worked alongside many other popular artistes such as Apostle Reverand TT Chivaviro, Bethany Pasinawako of Xtreme Afrique and Noel Zembe, among others. He is a member of Father’s Heart International Ministries which is based in Harare. He recently released his debut solo album Rumbidzo which has been well received by locals and radio stations.
